Cementitious Fire Protection Coating

Durable, Cost-Effective Fire Protection for Heavy Industrial Environments

Cementitious fireproofing is a robust, spray-applied passive fire protection system that uses a cement-based compound to encapsulate and insulate structural steel members. It is the preferred choice for large-scale industrial projects where cost efficiency, durability, and high fire resistance ratings are the primary requirements.

What is Cementitious Fireproofing?

Cementitious fireproofing consists of a mineral-based slurry — typically composed of Portland cement, lightweight aggregates, and binders — that is spray-applied onto structural steel surfaces. When cured, it forms a hard, durable layer that provides excellent thermal insulation during a fire event. It is particularly effective in environments exposed to mechanical impact, moisture, and high humidity.

Key Benefits
  • Cost-effective for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects
  • Achieves fire resistance ratings of up to 4 hours
  • Excellent resistance to mechanical damage and impact
  • Performs well in high-humidity and wet environments
  • Non-combustible and chemically inert
  • Fast application — suitable for large areas
Applications
  • Oil refineries and chemical processing plants
  • Power stations and utilities infrastructure
  • Offshore platforms and industrial modules
  • Steel columns and beams in warehouses and factories
  • Underground structures and tunnels
Application Process

The steel surface is prepared and primed before application. The cementitious material is then spray-applied in controlled layers to achieve the specified thickness. Each layer is allowed to cure before the next is applied. Final thickness is verified using calibrated gauges to confirm compliance with the fire resistance specification.
